The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 and those that blow gently, 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
