The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 by those that swim serenely 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
