The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 By the angels hastening, 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
