The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
