By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 And the second followeth it, 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
