The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 you pay attention 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
