The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
