The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 and gently take it away; 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
