The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 And those who govern the event, 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 and gathered his people together 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 you pay attention 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
