The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 then he mustered 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
