The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 and those that blow gently, 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 And the second followeth it, 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 and hastily turned away, 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
