The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
