The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
