The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 and those that blow gently, 2 by those that swim serenely 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 even after we have been reduced to bones, hollow and rotten?” 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
