The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 And by those that press forward as in a race (i.e. the angels or stars or the horses, etc.). 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 And the second followeth it, 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
