The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
