The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 The disbelievers say, "Will we really return to our former state?" 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
