The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
