The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 you pay attention 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
