The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 and those that blow gently, 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 By the angels hastening, 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
