The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 And by those who float in space, 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
