The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
