The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
