The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 and thus they fulfil the [Creator's] behest! 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 you pay attention 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
