The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
