The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 by those that swim serenely 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 and hastily turned away, 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
