The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 by those that swim serenely 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 And the second followeth it, 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 and gathered his people together 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
