The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
