Al-Naze'aat 2 of 2
What! Are ye the more difficult to create or the heaven (above)? (Allah) hath constructed it: 27 On high hath He raised its canopy, and He hath given it order and perfection. 28 And He darkened its night and extracted its brightness. 29 After this, He spread out the earth, 30 He brought forth from it its water and its pasturage. 31 And the mountains hath He firmly fixed;- 32 As convenience for you and your cattle. 33 When the great calamity comes, 34 The Day when man shall remember what he strove for, 35 and the blazing fire [of hell] will be laid open before all who [are destined to] see it. 36 Then as for him who waxed exorbitant, 37 And had preferred the life of this world, 38 Will surely have Hell for his abode. 39 And for one who feared to stand before his Lord and restrained his soul from desire, 40 Then surely the garden-- that is the abode. 41 They will question thee concerning the Hour, when it shall berth. 42 Wherein art thou concerned with the declaration thereof! 43 This matter is in the hands of your Lord. 44 You are only a warner to him who would fear it. 45 The day when they will see it, it will seem as if they had not stayed on earth except for an evening or its morning. 46

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
