He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ HE FROWNED and turned away 1 Because there came unto him a blind man. 2 But what could tell thee but that perchance he might grow (in spiritual understanding)?- 3 Or that he might receive admonition, and that the admonition might profit him? 4 As for him who was indifferent, 5 To him you give attention. 6 though it is not thy concern, if he does not cleanse himself. 7 And as for him who cometh unto thee running, 8 And he feareth 9 From him you are distracted. 10 No indeed; it is a Reminder 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 In honored books, 13 Exalted and holy, 14 By the hands of scribes. 15 noble, pious. 16 Cursed is man; how disbelieving is he. 17 Out of what did Allah create him? 18 From a drop of seed. He createth him and proportioneth him, 19 Then maketh the way easy for him, 20 He will then send him to death and have him laid in the grave. 21 Then, when He willed, He brought him out. (As during the night of Holy Prophet’s ascension, when all the Prophets gathered behind him in the Al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem. Or when Allah will raise everyone on the Day of Resurrection.) 22 Nay, but (man) has not done what He commanded him. 23 Then let mankind look at his food - 24 How We poured down water in torrents, 25 Then We cracked the earth open under pressure (of germination) 26 We make the grain grow out of it, 27 And grapes and green fodder 28 And olives and date-palms, 29 And garden-closes of thick foliage 30 And fruits and fodder,- 31 an enjoyment for you and your flocks. 32 But when the deafening cry comes, 33 upon the day when a man shall flee from his brother, 34 his mother, his father, 35 his consort, his sons, 36 on that Day each will be occupied with his own business, making him oblivious of all save himself. 37 on that Day some faces will be beaming, 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news (of Paradise). 39 And many a face will be covered with dust on that day. 40 with darkness overspread: 41 Those are the disbelievers, the wicked ones. 42
God the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: He Frowned ('Abasa). Sent down in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
