He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned (his) back, 1 Because there came to him the blind man, [interrupting]. 2 But what would make you perceive, [O Muhammad], that perhaps he might be purified 3 Or be admonished, so that the admonition might have profited him? 4 As for him who was indifferent, 5 You pay full attention, 6 although thou art not accountable for his failure to attain to purity; 7 And to him who came to you eagerly 8 And is also fearful (of God), 9 Him thou neglectest! 10 Nay! surely it is an admonishment. 11 and whosoever wills, shall remember it. 12 It is set down on honoured pages, 13 Exalted and holy, 14 In the hands of scribes 15 noble and most virtuous. 16 Perish man! how ungrateful he is! 17 Of what [stuff] has He created him? 18 From a (sperm) drop He created him and then determined him, 19 Then made his passage easy (at birth); 20 Then He caused him to die and made him to be buried. 21 Then when He wills, He will resurrect him. 22 Nay; but he has not done what He bade him. 23 Let man consider his food: 24 That We pour forth water in abundance, 25 Then We split the earth properly. 26 then caused the grain to grow out of it, 27 together with grapes and vegetables, 28 And olive and palm trees 29 and dense orchards, 30 fruits, and grass. 31 an enjoyment for you and your flocks. 32 When the trumpet sounds, 33 on a Day when everyone will [want to] flee from his brother, 34 his mother, his father, 35 And his spouse and his son-- 36 Each man will have enough cares that day. 37 Faces on that Day shall be beaming, 38 laughing and joyful, 39 And many will be dust-begrimed, 40 Dust shall cover them 41 Those are the disbelievers, the wicked ones. 42
