He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Prophet frowned and turned away 1 Because the blind man came unto him. 2 And what would make you know that he would purify himself, 3 or yet remember, and the Reminder profit him. 4 As for him who is not in want of any thing, 5 to a rich man, 6 though you will not be questioned even if he never purifies himself. 7 As for the one who comes to you earnestly (striving for guidance). 8 And hath fear, 9 You neglect. 10 Nay, but verily it is an Admonishment, 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 (Contained) in honoured pages, 13 exalted, purified, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 noble, pious. 16 Cursed is man; how disbelieving is he. 17 Of what substance God created him? 18 From a sperm-drop He created him and destined for him; 19 Then (as for) the way-- He has made it easy (for him) 20 Then He causes him to die, then assigns to him a grave, 21 and then, whenever He wishes, He will raise him back to life. 22 Certainly, he has not duly fulfilled His commands. 23 Let the human reflect on the food he eats, 24 For that We pour forth water in abundance, 25 Then We cleave the earth, cleaving (it) asunder, 26 Thereby produced grain in it. 27 and vines and edible plants, 28 and olive trees and date-palms, 29 and burgeoning enclosed gardens 30 And fruits and herbage: 31 A provision for you and for your cattle. 32 At length, when there comes the Deafening Noise,- 33 The day on which a man shall fly from his brother, 34 his mother and his father, 35 and his consort and his children; 36 For every man, that Day, will be a matter adequate for him. 37 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 38 laughing, rejoicing at glad tidings. 39 Some faces on that Day shall be dust-ridden, 40 Darkness will cover them, 41 These will be the unbelievers, the wicked. 42
