He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man. 2 And what could let you know? Perhaps he (comes to hear you) to be purified. 3 Or become reminded so that the reminder should profit him? 4 Yet you pay attention 5 to him thou attendest 6 although it is not for you to be concerned if he remained unpurified. 7 But he who comes to you running, 8 And with fear (in his heart), 9 to him thou payest no heed. 10 By no means! Verily it is an admonition. 11 So let him who pleases mind it. 12 upon highly honored pages, 13 Exalted (in dignity), purified, 14 Written by the hands of emissaries. 15 Noble and righteous. 16 Accursed is man. How ungrateful is he! 17 [Does man ever consider] out of what substance [God] creates him? 18 Of a small seed; He created him, then He made him according to a measure, 19 Then (as for) the way-- He has made it easy (for him) 20 He will then send him to death and have him laid in the grave. 21 Then He will raise him up again when He please. 22 Yet man declines to do His bidding. 23 Let man therefore consider (the sources of) his food. 24 We poured down rain abundantly, 25 and cleaved the earth, cleaving it asunder; 26 Thereby produced grain in it. 27 And grapes and vegetables 28 olives, dates, 29 thickly planted gardens, 30 and fruits and pastures 31 for you and for your animals to enjoy. 32 But, when the Blast comes, 33 upon the day when a man shall flee from his brother, 34 And from his mother and father, 35 And from his wife and his children. 36 Each man will have enough cares that day. 37 (Many) faces on that day shall be bright, 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news. 39 but some faces will be covered with dust 40 Dust shall cover them 41 It is they, the disbelievers, the sinners. 42
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
