He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because there came unto him a blind man. 2 How canst thou know, whether haply he might be cleansed, 3 Or that he may accept advice, so the advice may benefit him. 4 As for him who thinketh himself independent, 5 to him thou attendest 6 And not upon you [is any blame] if he will not be purified. 7 But as for him who cometh unto thee with earnest purpose 8 and fears (Allah), 9 you pay him no heed. 10 No indeed; this is only a Reminder. 11 So let him who pleases mind it. 12 (It is) in Books held (greatly) in honour, 13 Exalted (in dignity), purified, 14 [borne] by the hands of messengers 15 noble and most virtuous. 16 Accursed be man! How stubbornly he denies the Truth. 17 Of what substance God created him? 18 From a sperm-drop: He hath created him, and then mouldeth him in due proportions; 19 and then made the course of life easy for him, 20 Then He caused him to die and made him to be buried. 21 Then when He pleases, He will bring him back to life. 22 Nay; but he has not done what He bade him. 23 Then let man look at his food, 24 We send down abundant water, 25 then We split the earth in fissures 26 And We made corn grow, 27 together with grapes and vegetables, 28 and olive trees and date palms 29 And gardens of dense shrubbery 30 And fruits and Abba (herbage, etc.), 31 Provision for you and your cattle. 32 And when the Blast shall sound, 33 The day on which a man shall fly from his brother, 34 And his mother and his father, 35 and from his spouse and his children: 36 on that Day each will be occupied with his own business, making him oblivious of all save himself. 37 Some faces that Day will be beaming, 38 laughing and joyous 39 And many a face will be covered with dust on that day. 40 o'erspread with darkness -- 41 These will be the unbelievers, the wicked. 42
God the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: He Frowned ('Abasa). Sent down in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
