He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ HE FROWNED and turned away 1 when the blind came to him. 2 And what could let you know? Perhaps he (comes to hear you) to be purified. 3 Or that he may accept advice, so the advice may benefit him. 4 As to one who regards Himself as self-sufficient, 5 To him you attend; 6 And you have nothing to lose if he does not become pure. 7 As for him who comes to you striving (after goodness), 8 And hath fear, 9 you pay no heed to him. 10 Indeed, this [Quran] is an admonition. 11 So whoever wills may remember it. 12 On honoured leaves 13 exalted, purified, 14 by the hands of the noble, virtuous, 15 Honourable and Pious and Just. 16 [But only too often] man destroys himself: how stubbornly does he deny the truth! 17 From what stuff hath He created him? 18 From a drop of liquid; He created him and then set several measures for him. 19 and then made the course of life easy for him, 20 then makes him to die, and buries him, 21 Then, when it is His Will, He will raise him up (again). 22 No! Man has not yet accomplished what He commanded him. 23 Let man reflect on the food he eats. 24 We poured down rain abundantly, 25 and then We cleaved the earth asunder. 26 how We made the grain to grow, 27 and grape vines and vegetables, 28 And the olive and the palm, 29 thickly planted gardens, 30 and fruits and herbage, 31 A provision for you and your cattle. 32 But when the deafening cry comes, 33 That Day shall a man flee from his brother, 34 and from his mother and father, 35 And from his wife and sons. 36 Every man that day will have concern enough to make him heedless (of others). 37 Some faces on that day will be radiant, 38 Laughing and full of joy, 39 And [other] faces, that Day, will have upon them dust. 40 o'erspread with darkness -- 41 These will be the faces of the sinful disbelievers. 42
Almighty God's Truth.

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
