He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because a blind man came to him. 2 And what do you know, he may be of the pure! 3 Or be admonished, so that the admonition might have profited him? 4 As for he who is sufficed 5 to a rich man, 6 although it is not for you to be concerned if he remained unpurified. 7 And to him who came to you eagerly 8 and in awe of God 9 him didst thou disregard! 10 Nay, (do not do like this), indeed it (these Verses of this Quran) are an admonition, 11 So whoso wills may give heed to it. 12 in [the light of His] revelations blest with dignity, 13 Exalted (in dignity), purified, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 and angelic scribes. 16 Perish the human! How unthankful he is! 17 Out of what did Allah create him? 18 From a drop of seed. He createth him and proportioneth him, 19 Then the way He made easy. 20 then He caused him to die and brought him to the grave, 21 Then, when He will, He bringeth him again to life. 22 Nay, but (man) hath not done what He commanded him. 23 Let Man consider his nourishment. 24 It is We Who pour forth water, pouring, 25 Then split the earth in clefts 26 We make the grain grow out of it, 27 And grapes and clover plants (i.e. green fodder for the cattle), 28 And olive and palm trees 29 And gardens, dense with many trees, 30 and fruits, and pastures, 31 (These are made so as to be) means of enjoyment for you and your cattle. 32 Then when cometh the Deafening Cry 33 On the day when a man fleeth from his brother 34 And from his mother and his father, 35 And from his wife and sons. 36 For every man, that Day, will be a matter adequate for him. 37 (Many) faces on that day shall be bright, 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 And [other] faces, that Day, will have upon them dust. 40 o'erspread with darkness -- 41 Such will be the Kafarah (disbelievers in Allah, in His Oneness, and in His Messenger Muhammad (Peace be upon him), etc.), the Fajarah (wicked evil doers). 42
