He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Prophet frowned and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man (interrupting). 2 And what could let you know? Perhaps he (comes to hear you) to be purified. 3 or take heed and derive benefit from [Our] warning? 4 As for him who considers himself free from need (of you), 5 To him dost thou attend; 6 Though it is not your concern if he should not grow (in fulness). 7 As for the one who comes to you earnestly (striving for guidance). 8 and in awe [of God] 9 Of him wast thou unmindful. 10 These verses are a reminder 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 [It is recorded] in honored sheets, 13 Exalted (in dignity), kept pure and holy, 14 borne by the hands of scribes, 15 and angelic scribes. 16 Perish Man! How unthankful he is! 17 Out of what did Allah create him? 18 He created him from a living germ. He determined his fate 19 Then made his passage easy (at birth); 20 Then causeth him to die, and burieth him; 21 and He will resurrect him whenever He wants. 22 Nay, but [man] has never yet fulfilled what He has enjoined upon him! 23 Let the human being think about (how We produce) his food. 24 That We pour forth water in abundance, 25 and then We cleave the earth [with new growth,] cleaving it asunder, 26 And produce therein corn, 27 together with grapes and vegetables, 28 And olives and date-palms, 29 And dense gardens, 30 And fruits and fodder,- 31 for you and for your herds to delight in. 32 Then, when there comes As-Sakhkhah (the Day of Resurrection's second blowing of Trumpet), 33 upon the day when a man shall flee from his brother, 34 And from his mother and father, 35 And from his wife and his children. 36 for on that day everyone will be completely engrossed in his own concerns. 37 [Some] faces, that Day, will be bright - 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 some faces on that day shall be dusty 40 Dust shall cover them 41 these, these will be the ones who denied the truth and were immersed in iniquity! 42
Almighty God's Truth.
End of Surah: He Frowned ('Abasa). Sent down in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
