He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ HE FROWNED and turned away 1 Because the blind man had come in his august presence. 2 What made you think that he will not grow in virtue, 3 Or take heed and so the reminder might avail him? 4 As for he who thinks himself without need, 5 Unto him thou attendest. 6 Whereas it is not on thee that he is not cleansed. 7 As for him who comes to you striving (after goodness), 8 And is also fearful (of God), 9 him didst thou disregard! 10 By no means! Verily it is an admonition. 11 So let him who pleases mind it. 12 (This Quran) is also recorded in honorable books, 13 Exalted, pure. 14 By the hands of scribes. 15 noble and most virtuous. 16 [But only too often] man destroys himself: how stubbornly does he deny the truth! 17 From what thing doth He create him? 18 From a sperm-drop He created him and destined for him; 19 then the way eased for him, 20 Then He causes his death and provides a grave for him. 21 Then when He pleases, He will raise him to life again. 22 Yet man declines to do His bidding. 23 Let man, then, consider [the sources of] his food: 24 We send down abundant water, 25 And We split the earth in clefts, 26 to yield therein corn, 27 And grapes and vegetables 28 And olive and palm trees 29 And garden-closes of thick foliage 30 and fruit and pastures, 31 A provision for you and your cattle. 32 And when the Blast shall sound, 33 on that Day a man shall flee from his own brother, 34 and from his mother and father, 35 his consort, his sons, 36 for on that day everyone will be completely engrossed in his own concerns. 37 Many a face will be glittering on that day. 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news (of Paradise). 39 And many a face will be covered with dust on that day. 40 enveloped by darkness. 41 Those, they are the unbelievers, the immoral. 42
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: He Frowned ('Abasa). Sent down in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
There are memorization exercises for the original Arabic and English transliterated Arabic modes only. The English translation mode has no memorization exercises.
