He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 from a blind man who had come up to him. 2 But what would make you perceive, [O Muhammad], that perhaps he might be purified 3 or he might be mindful and good counsel might avail him. 4 As for he who thinks himself without need, 5 To him you give attention. 6 And you have nothing to lose if he does not become pure. 7 But as for him who cometh unto thee with earnest purpose 8 And whereas he fears, 9 him didst thou disregard! 10 Not this way this is the advice. 11 so let those who want to follow its guidance do so. 12 (Contained) in honoured pages, 13 Exalted, purified, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 and angelic scribes. 16 [But only too often] man destroys himself: how stubbornly does he deny the truth! 17 From what did He create him? 18 Of a drop of seed. He created him and formed him according to a measure. 19 and made the path of guidance easy for him to follow. 20 Then He causeth him to die, and putteth him in his grave; 21 Then, when it is His Will, He will resurrect him (again). 22 Not one he has not yet completed what he was commanded. 23 Then let man look at his food, 24 We poured down rain abundantly, 25 and cleaved the earth, cleaving it asunder; 26 And caused to grow within it grain 27 together with grapes and vegetables, 28 and olives and palms, 29 And thick gardens, 30 And fruits and fodder,- 31 A provision for you and for your cattle. 32 So when the deafening Shout arrives, 33 On the day when a man fleeth from his brother 34 his mother and his father, 35 wife and sons, 36 Each man will have enough cares that day. 37 Many faces will that day be bright, 38 laughing, and rejoicing, 39 Some faces on that Day shall be dust-ridden, 40 and covered by darkness. 41 Those are the disbelievers, the wicked ones. 42
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
