He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away. 1 Because a blind man came to him. 2 And what do you know, he may be of the pure! 3 or take heed and derive benefit from [Our] warning? 4 As for him who thinketh himself independent, 5 to him didst thou give thy whole attention, 6 Yet it is not thy concern if he grow not (in grace). 7 And for him who came to you striving, 8 And whereas he fears, 9 Of him wast thou unmindful. 10 Assuredly this is a reminder 11 so let those who want to follow its guidance do so. 12 (It is) in Records held (greatly) in honour (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz). 13 Exalted (in dignity), purified, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 noble and purified. 16 [But only too often] man destroys himself: how stubbornly does he deny the truth! 17 From what substance did He create him? 18 He created him from a living germ. He determined his fate 19 He makes his path easy for him. 20 Then causeth him to die, and burieth him; 21 then, when He wills, He raises him. 22 Certainly, he has not duly fulfilled His commands. 23 Let the human being think about (how We produce) his food. 24 We send down abundant water, 25 And We split the earth in clefts, 26 how We made the grain to grow, 27 and grape vines and vegetables, 28 And olives and date-palms, 29 And gardens, dense with many trees, 30 and fruits and herbage, 31 A provision for you and for your cattle. 32 So when the deafening Shout arrives, 33 On the Day a man will flee from his brother 34 and his mother and his father; 35 And his wife and his children, 36 Everyman, that Day, will have enough to make him careless of others. 37 Some faces on that day shall shine 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news; 39 some faces on that day shall be dusty 40 Veiled in darkness, 41 These are they who are unbelievers, the wicked. 42
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: He Frowned ('Abasa). Sent down in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
