He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Prophet frowned and turned away 1 when the blind man approached him, 2 But what could tell thee but that perchance he might grow (in spiritual understanding)?- 3 Or become reminded so that the reminder should profit him? 4 For him who does not care, 5 to him thou attendest 6 although it is not for you to be concerned if he remained unpurified. 7 And as for him who cometh unto thee running, 8 and fearfully, 9 So you leave him, and are engrossed elsewhere! 10 No indeed, this is a Reminder; 11 (and whoso wills, shall remember it) 12 upon highly honored pages, 13 most exalted and purified, 14 (Set down) by scribes 15 Honourable and Pious and Just. 16 Perish man! how ungrateful he is! 17 Of what [stuff] has He created him? 18 From a (sperm) drop He created him and then determined him, 19 Then He eased the way for him; 20 Then He causes his death and provides a grave for him. 21 Then, when He willed, He brought him out. (As during the night of Holy Prophet’s ascension, when all the Prophets gathered behind him in the Al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem. Or when Allah will raise everyone on the Day of Resurrection.) 22 Not one he has not yet completed what he was commanded. 23 Let the human being think about (how We produce) his food. 24 How We pour water in showers 25 Then We split the earth properly. 26 And caused to grow within it grain 27 grapes, vegetables, 28 and olive trees and date-palms, 29 and burgeoning enclosed gardens 30 and fruits and pastures 31 for you and for your herds to delight in. 32 Then when cometh the Deafening Cry 33 it will be such a day when a person will run away from his brother, 34 and his mother and his father; 35 And his wife and his children, 36 Each man will have enough cares that day. 37 Some faces that Day will be beaming, 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news. 39 And other faces that Day will be dust-stained, 40 with darkness overspread: 41 These will be the unbelievers, the wicked. 42
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
