He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 because the blind man approached him! 2 But what could tell you that per chance he might become pure (from sins)? 3 (He might) remember, and the Reminder might profit him. 4 As for he who thinks himself without need, 5 you eagerly attended to him -- 6 Though it is no blame to thee if he grow not (in spiritual understanding). 7 But as to him who came to you running. 8 And is also fearful (of God), 9 him didst thou disregard! 10 No indeed; this is only a Reminder. 11 Therefore let whoso will, keep it in remembrance. 12 upon highly honored pages, 13 Exalted and holy, 14 In the hands of scribes (angels). 15 and angelic scribes. 16 May (the disbelieving) human being be condemned! What makes him disbelieve? 17 Of what thing hath He created him? 18 From Nutfah (male and female semen drops) He created him, and then set him in due proportion; 19 Then He makes the Path easy for him; 20 then makes him to die, and buries him, 21 Then, when He will, He bringeth him again to life. 22 No! Man has not yet accomplished what He commanded him. 23 Let the human being think about (how We produce) his food. 24 how We pour down rain in abundance, 25 Then We split the earth properly. 26 And We made corn grow, 27 and vines and edible plants, 28 and olive trees and date palms 29 And gardens of dense shrubbery 30 And fruits and grass, 31 (To be) a provision and benefit for you and your cattle. 32 But when there comes the Deafening Blast 33 On the day when a man fleeth from his brother 34 and his mother and his father; 35 And from his wife and sons. 36 Everyone on that Day will have affairs to keep him occupied. 37 Some faces on that day will be radiant, 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 And [other] faces, that Day, will have upon them dust. 40 Blackness will cover them. 41 Those! they are the infidels, the ungodly. 42
