He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away. 1 when the blind came to him. 2 But what could tell thee but that perchance he might grow (in spiritual understanding)?- 3 or receive some (Quranic) advice which would benefit him. 4 As for him who regardeth himself self-sufficient 5 to him didst thou give thy whole attention, 6 And you have nothing to lose if he does not become pure. 7 And as to him who comes to you striving hard, 8 and in awe of God 9 you pay him no heed. 10 Assuredly this is a reminder 11 So whoever wills, let him pay attention to it. 12 upon highly honored pages, 13 most exalted and purified, 14 (Written) by the hands of scribes- 15 Honourable and Pious and Just. 16 May (the disbelieving) human being be condemned! What makes him disbelieve? 17 Of what [stuff] has He created him? 18 From a (sperm) drop He created him and then determined him, 19 then the way eased for him, 20 then makes him to die, and buries him, 21 then, when He wills, He raises him. 22 Nay, but (man) hath not done what He commanded him. 23 Let Man consider his nourishment. 24 We let the rain pour down in torrents 25 Then We broke open the earth, splitting [it with sprouts], 26 And cause the grain to grow therein 27 grapes, vegetables, 28 And olives and date-palms, 29 And enclosed Gardens, dense with lofty trees, 30 And fruits and fodder: 31 In order to benefit you and your cattle. 32 But when the deafening cry comes, 33 That Day shall a man flee from his brother, 34 his mother and his father, 35 And his spouse and his son-- 36 on that Day each will be occupied with his own business, making him oblivious of all save himself. 37 Some faces on that Day shall be beaming with happiness, 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news; 39 And other faces that Day will be dust-stained, 40 Blackness will cover them. 41 Those are the disbelievers, the wicked ones. 42
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

ColorfulQuran.com displays pages in one of three Arabic fonts. Each may appear with a one-third chance, adding more diversity to the already diverse colors. And the words remain unchanged forever. ColorfulQuran.com will have more beautiful fonts soon, God willing.
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
