He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ He frowned and turned (his) back, 1 when the blind man approached him, 2 And what do you know, he may be of the pure! 3 Or that he may accept advice, so the advice may benefit him. 4 As to one who regards Himself as self-sufficient, 5 you attended to him, 6 What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief, you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allah). 7 And as to him who comes to you striving hard, 8 and fearfully, 9 you pay no heed to him. 10 By no means! Verily it is an admonition. 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 (This Quran) is also recorded in honorable books, 13 most exalted and purified, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 Who are noble, virtuous. 16 Perish Man! How unthankful he is! 17 Of what did He create him? 18 Out of a drop of sperm He creates him, and thereupon determines his nature, 19 Then eased the way for him. 20 Then He causes him to die, then assigns to him a grave, 21 Then, when He will, He bringeth him again to life. 22 Nay, but (man) hath not done what He commanded him. 23 Let the human reflect on the food he eats, 24 We let the rain pour down in torrents 25 and split the earth, splitting, 26 We make the grain grow out of it, 27 And grapes and herbage, 28 and the olive, and the palm, 29 And dense gardens, 30 And fruits and fodder,- 31 for you and for your animals to enjoy. 32 And when the Blast shall sound, 33 The day on which a man shall fly from his brother, 34 and from his mother and father, 35 And his wife and his children, 36 Each man will have enough cares that day. 37 On that day faces will be bright as dawn, 38 laughing and joyous 39 And faces on that Day! upon them shall be gloom. 40 Blackness will cover them: 41 They will be the unbelievers, transgressors. 42
