He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ (The Prophet (Peace be upon him)) frowned and turned away, 1 Because a blind man came to him. 2 What made you think that he will not grow in virtue, 3 Or take heed and so the reminder might avail him? 4 As for him who regardeth himself self-sufficient 5 To him dost thou attend; 6 though it is not thy concern, if he does not cleanse himself. 7 but as for one who comes to you, eagerly 8 And with fear (in his heart), 9 From him thou art distracted. 10 No indeed, this is a Reminder; 11 Let him who will, pay heed to it. 12 In honored books, 13 Exalted, Purified, 14 Written by the hands of emissaries. 15 Honourable and obedient. 16 Cursed is man; how disbelieving is he. 17 From what has God created him? 18 From a drop of seed. He createth him and proportioneth him, 19 Then eased the way for him. 20 then causes him to die and buries him, 21 then, when He wills, He raises him. 22 But no. He has not fulfilled what was enjoined on him. 23 Then let mankind look at his food - 24 We let the rain pour down in torrents 25 and let the earth to break open 26 And caused to grow within it grain 27 grapes, vegetables, 28 And Olives and Dates, 29 And enclosed Gardens, dense with lofty trees, 30 and fruits, and pastures, 31 [As] enjoyment for you and your grazing livestock. 32 But when there comes the Deafening Blast 33 That Day shall a man flee from his brother, 34 And from his mother and father, 35 wife and sons, 36 For every man, that Day, will be a matter adequate for him. 37 Some faces will shine, 38 laughing and joyful, 39 And (many) faces on that day, on them shall be dust, 40 with darkness overspread: 41 These will be the faces of the sinful disbelievers. 42
