He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because a blind man came to him. 2 Yet for all thou didst know, [O Muhammad,] he might perhaps have grown in purity, 3 Or that he may accept advice, so the advice may benefit him. 4 As for him who regardeth himself self-sufficient 5 Unto him thou attendest. 6 Though it is not your concern if he should not grow (in fulness). 7 And for him who came to you striving, 8 And is afraid (of Allah and His Punishment), 9 him didst thou disregard! 10 Nay, but verily it is an Admonishment, 11 Therefore let whoso will, keep it in remembrance. 12 It is set down on honoured pages, 13 exalted and purified, 14 borne by the hands of scribes, 15 Honourable and obedient. 16 Accursed is man. How ungrateful is he! 17 [Does man ever consider] out of what substance [God] creates him? 18 Of a sperm-drop He created him, and determined him, 19 Then He makes the Path easy for him; 20 Then He causes him to die and be buried. 21 then, He will raise him when He wills. 22 By no means he performed not that which He had commanded him. 23 Let the human being think about (how We produce) his food. 24 That We pour forth water in abundance, 25 Thereafter We cleave the earth in clefts, 26 And We made corn grow, 27 together with grapes and vegetables, 28 olives, dates, 29 And thick gardens, 30 And fruits and herbage: 31 For use and convenience to you and your cattle. 32 But when the Shout cometh 33 on that Day each person will flee from his brother, 34 And from his mother and his father, 35 And his wife and his children, 36 on that Day, to every one of them will his own state be of sufficient concern. 37 on that Day some faces will be beaming, 38 laughing, and rejoicing, 39 And other faces, that Day, will be dust-stained; 40 and overcast with gloom: 41 Those! they are the infidels, the ungodly. 42
God the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: He Frowned ('Abasa). Sent down in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
