He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because the blind man came unto him. 2 What made you think that he will not grow in virtue, 3 (He might) remember, and the Reminder might profit him. 4 Now as for him who believes himself to be self-sufficient 5 you eagerly attended to him -- 6 What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief, you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allah). 7 but as for him who came unto thee full of eagerness 8 And he feareth 9 Him thou neglectest! 10 Not this way this is the advice. 11 so let those who want to follow its guidance do so. 12 in [the light of His] revelations blest with dignity, 13 Exalted (in dignity), purified, 14 (Written) by the hands of scribes- 15 Honourable and Pious and Just. 16 Accursed be man! How stubbornly he denies the Truth. 17 Of what substance God created him? 18 From a drop of liquid; He created him and then set several measures for him. 19 then eased his path for him, 20 Then He causes him to die and be buried. 21 Then, when it is His Will, He will resurrect him (again). 22 No! Man has not yet accomplished what He commanded him. 23 Then let man look to his food, 24 We poured down rain abundantly, 25 Then We cleave the earth, cleaving (it) asunder, 26 And caused to grow within it grain 27 And Grapes and nutritious plants, 28 And olives and palms 29 Orchards thick with trees, 30 And fruits and grass, 31 [As] enjoyment for you and your grazing livestock. 32 So when the deafening Shout arrives, 33 on that Day each person will flee from his brother, 34 his mother, his father, 35 wife and sons, 36 Everyone on that Day will have affairs to keep him occupied. 37 Some faces on that day shall shine 38 laughing, joyous; 39 Some faces on that Day shall be dust-ridden, 40 Darkness will cover them, 41 Such will be the Kafarah (disbelievers in Allah, in His Oneness, and in His Messenger Muhammad (Peace be upon him), etc.), the Fajarah (wicked evil doers). 42
God the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: He Frowned ('Abasa). Sent down in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
