He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Prophet frowned and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man (interrupting). 2 for how can you know that he might seek to purify himself, 3 or have been reminded [of the truth,] and helped by this reminder. 4 For him who does not care, 5 To him you give attention. 6 Yet it is not thy concern if he grow not (in grace). 7 And he who comes to thee eagerly 8 And he fears, 9 of him you were unmindful. 10 By no means (should it be so)! For it is indeed a Message of instruction: 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 upon highly honored pages, 13 exalted, purified, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 Who are noble, virtuous. 16 May (the disbelieving) human being be condemned! What makes him disbelieve? 17 From what thing doth He create him? 18 From a single sperm He created, then proportioned him, 19 Then eased the way for him. 20 then He caused him to die and brought him to the grave, 21 Then when He pleases, He will raise him to life again. 22 No! Man has not yet accomplished what He commanded him. 23 Then let mankind look at his food - 24 For that We pour forth water in abundance, 25 Then We cracked the earth open under pressure (of germination) 26 then caused the grain to grow out of it, 27 together with grapes and vegetables, 28 and olives, and palms, 29 And enclosed gardens luxuriant. 30 and fruit and pastures, 31 For use and convenience to you and your cattle. 32 But when the deafening cry comes, 33 on that Day a man shall flee from his own brother, 34 and his mother and his father; 35 and his consort and his children; 36 on that Day, to every one of them will his own state be of sufficient concern. 37 Faces on that Day shall be beaming, 38 Laughing and full of joy, 39 And other faces, on that day, with dust upon them, 40 Veiled in darkness, 41 these, these will be the ones who denied the truth and were immersed in iniquity! 42
