He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man (i.e. 'Abdullah bin Umm-Maktum, who came to the Prophet (Peace be upon him) while he was preaching to one or some of the Quraish chiefs). 2 What made you think that he will not grow in virtue, 3 Or be admonished, so that the admonition might have profited him? 4 Now as for him who believes himself to be self-sufficient 5 to a rich man, 6 And no blame is on you if he would not purify himself 7 But as for he who came to you striving [for knowledge] 8 And with fear (in his heart), 9 him didst thou disregard! 10 No indeed, this is a Reminder; 11 Therefore let whoso will, keep it in remembrance. 12 upon pages high-honoured, 13 Exalted and holy, 14 In the hands of scribes 15 noble and most virtuous. 16 Perish the human! How unthankful he is! 17 From what has God created him? 18 Out of a drop of sperm He creates him, and thereupon determines his nature, 19 then the way eased for him, 20 Then He caused him to die and be buried 21 and He will resurrect him whenever He wants. 22 No indeed! Man has not accomplished His bidding. 23 So let man just consider his food: 24 It is We Who pour forth water, pouring, 25 Thereafter We cleave the earth in clefts, 26 Thereby produced grain in it. 27 and vines and edible plants, 28 And olives and palms 29 And dense gardens, 30 and fruits and fodder 31 In order to benefit you and your cattle. 32 And when the Blast shall sound, 33 on that Day each person will flee from his brother, 34 his mother, his father, 35 And his spouse and his son-- 36 every man that day shall have business to suffice him. 37 [Some] faces, that Day, will be bright - 38 laughing and joyous 39 some faces on that day shall be dusty 40 o'erspread with darkness -- 41 Those are the disbelievers, the wicked. 42
Almighty God's Truth.

Notes and Instructions
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
