He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ (The Prophet (Peace be upon him)) frowned and turned away, 1 Because there came unto him a blind man. 2 But what could tell you that per chance he might become pure (from sins)? 3 (He might) remember, and the Reminder might profit him. 4 But the self-sufficient, 5 So you are after him! 6 Yet it is not thy concern if he grow not (in grace). 7 And as to him who comes to you striving hard, 8 and fears (Allah), 9 From him thou art distracted. 10 Indeed, this [Quran] is an admonition. 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 upon pages high-honoured, 13 Exalted, Purified, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 Who are noble, virtuous. 16 Man is (self-)destroyed: how ungrateful! 17 From what has God created him? 18 From a single sperm He created, then proportioned him, 19 Then maketh the way easy for him, 20 Then He caused him to die and made him to be buried. 21 and He will resurrect him whenever He wants. 22 Nay, but man did not fulfil what Allah had enjoined upon him. 23 So let man just consider his food: 24 How We poured down water in torrents, 25 And We split the earth in clefts, 26 And cause the grain to grow therein 27 And grapes and clover plants (i.e. green fodder for the cattle), 28 And olives and date palms, 29 And thick gardens, 30 fruits, and grass. 31 Provision for you and your cattle. 32 When the trumpet sounds, 33 upon the day when a man shall flee from his brother, 34 Mother and father, 35 his wife and his children. 36 Each man will have enough cares that day. 37 (Many) faces on that day shall be bright, 38 laughing, joyous; 39 but others will be gloomy 40 Veiled in darkness, 41 They will be the unbelievers, transgressors. 42
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: He Frowned ('Abasa). Sent down in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
